Group Classes

Dog & Cat offers a variety of fun, innovative classes designed to fit you and your dog's individual training needs. Our goal is to help you learn how to build a strong relationship with your dog while also learning the tools you need to have a successful training experience.  Pre-registration is required to ensure small class sizes and individualized attention.


How to Register for Classes

Step 1:Choose a class day and time that fits your schedule. If you're not sure which class would work best for you and your dog contact one of our instructors for more information. All new dogs start with Good Dog 1 or Puppy Pre-School. View complete class schedule by clicking here.

Step 2: Once you have selected a class, you can register via e-mail jen@dogandcat.org and specify the program, class time, and day you would like to register for or call 541.357.7387 (PETS). You can download our course registration form and e-mail it to us or bring it to your first class.

Step 3: You can pay for classes online by clicking here, or bring cash or check to your first class.



    The Good Dog training program is designed for dogs and puppies 4 months and older that are friendly around other dogs and humans. There are four different classes offered in this program and you can choose how fast you and your dog progress. All new dogs start with Good Dog 1.

      Good Dog 1: Training Foundations
      Good Dog 1 is designed to provide you and your dog with the tools you need to have a happy successful relationship. Learn fun, positive training techniques based on the science of how dogs learn in a fun and relaxing environment. The focus of this class will be to teach your dog attention, name response, calm greetings (jumping), loose leash walking skills, coming when called, and to relax on a mat, and leave it.

      Class Includes: Class handouts, phone and e-mail support, access to online social network .
      Length of Class : 6 weeks
      Size of class: Classes are limited to 8 dogs to ensure individualized attention.
      Pre-requisites: Dogs need to be 4 months or older and have all appropriate vaccinations.
      Cost: $109


      • Orientation: Tuesday, April 6th at 6:30 p.m.
      • Orientation: Tuesday, May 25th at 6:30 p.m.


      Good Dog 2: Distractions, Duration, and Reliability
      This class has been designed to build on the training that you learned in Good Dog 1. We will work on a greater level of attention around distractions, loose leash walking, building reliable recalls, calm greetings, wait, and stay. This class meets 3-4 weeks in a class room environment, and then depending on the individual class, the last 2-3 classes will meet outside the classroom at local parks, pet stores, or other pre-determined locations.

      Length of class: 6 weeks
      Pre-requisites: Good Dog 1
      Cost: $109

      • Class starts Tuesday, April 13th at 7:40 p.m.

      Good Dog 3: Urban Canine
      This is our most popular advanced course! Dogs and pet parents will work outside the classroom environment at pre-determined locations, like 5th street market, oakway mall, coffee houses, etc. This class is designed to increase your dogs' reliability around distractions and give you real life training experience. We will work on attention around distractions, walking on a loose leash through crowds, distance recalls, leave it, stay, dog-dog greetings, etc. It's great for dogs who need to learn to build focus and/or confidence around distractions.

      Length of class: 6 weeks
      Pre-requisites: Good Dog 1 and 2

      Good Dog 4: Canine Good Citizen
      The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program was started by the American Kennel Club in 1989. All dogs including both purebred and mixed breed dogs are welcome to participate in the CGC Program.

    Our Puppy Class has been designed to provide you and your puppy with the tools you need to have a happy successful relationship. We will work on settle down, attention on owner, name response, jumping, come, and loose leash walking, and many more fun behaviors. Plus, puppies will be able to play and learn in a fun, relaxed environment. Learn positive training techniques designed to strengthen your relationship, prevent and fix problem behaviors like chewing, digging, and barking and help your dog learn good manners.

    Length of class: 4 Weeks
    Size of class: Class is limited to 10 puppies
    Pre-requisites: Puppies need to be 8-16 weeks and have a minimum of at least 1 round of vaccinations. All puppies need to wear a properly fitted buckle collar, harness, or limited slip collar and 4-6ft. leash. No choke chains, pinch collars, or shock collars allowed.
    Cost: $69

    Class Time: Sunday, April 25th at 2:00pm

    Puppy Pre-School : $130.00 ($3 convenience fee when you pay online)

    Good Dog 1 : $110.00 ($3 convenience fee when you pay online)
    Includes: Class handouts, phone and e-mail support, access to our social network, and a graduation certificate.


    Good Dog 2 : $110.00 ($3 convenience fee when you pay online)
    Includes: Class handouts, phone and e-mail support, access to our social network, and a graduation certificate.


    Good Dog 1 and 2 : $199.00 ($5 convenience fee when you pay online)
    Includes: Class handouts, phone and e-mail support, access to our social network, and a graduation certificate.
